I think that this idea of forgetting is really scary, because it is unfortunately so easy. Too easy, to forget the things that you know, to let go of the things that matter. That's the why behind so many of God's commandments, because we are quick to forget. Prayer, scripture study, church, temple attendance, hymns, prophets, conference... not only for memory, but largely for that, and one of the Holy Ghost's charges is to bring Godly things to our remembrance.
Today, let's work harder at doing as God asks, and remembering all that God has done for us, and for others throughout history. Let's take time to pray, read, sing, listen, and otherwise remember what truly matters, and avoid hardening our hearts, becoming blind, and losing our way back to God... and if we already feel that fog of disbelief around us, then let's dispel it through memories of blessings and "cry unto [God], even until [we] shall have faith in Christ" (Helaman 5:41). Connecting with God will always disperse the darkness. ... Let's not let Satan have us, but fight his deceptions.
