3 John 1:11 -- On Doing and Seeing

"Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God."
3 John 1:11

This verse makes me think about what seeing God really means. It could be seeing God face to face as Moses did, or the Brother of Jared, but here it seems to be a more symbolic usage, and I was thinking that it could be more like seeing the idea / purpose / intent / nature of God, or what God is trying to get across to us. Because God *is* love, and truth, and everything good and holy, when we do good we see him and understand him better. If we don't do good and learn what living a good life is about, and how it uplifts us and the people around us, then we aren't really catching God's vision, or getting a picture of who he is.

Today, let's try to see God, and all that he stands for, more clearly, so that we can understand the impact that our choices have on everything around us, for good, or evil.
