"But wo unto the rich, who are rich as to the things of the world. For because they are rich they despise the poor, and they persecute the meek, and their hearts are upon their treasures; wherefore, their treasure is their god. And behold, their treasure shall perish with them also."
2 Nephi 9:30
This is a good reminder for us to not let our wealth or our "things" get between us and God, building up into walls of treasure... separating us and moving our focus to something besides Him. Things are cool sometimes, and walls of treasure sound tempting even, but nothing is cooler than God, who rejoices with us in our successes, and sorrows with us in our despair... who gave himself to lift us up and help us make it to a life that is so much better than our current one that we can only imagine the smallest parts of it. ... Like eternal life in a body that can never get sick. Eternal life surrounded by people who love us and value us... as we value them. Money can't get us any of that, but sticking with God, and keeping his commandments... that can. Today, let's stick with God, and make sure that we are prioritizing what really matters, like God and love for other people, over the temporary euphoria of getting something we really want.
