"And Christ truly said unto our fathers: If ye have faith ye can do all things which are expedient unto me.
And now I speak unto all the ends of the earth—that if the day cometh that the power and gifts of God shall be done away among you, it shall be because of unbelief."
Moroni 10:23-24
Thinking about this today, and I wonder if this is why God tells us that we need to become like little children. We need an infusion of wonder and imagination in our lives, and to wean ourselves off our giant doses of skepticism, at least as it applies to God... because God *can* do all these things that we've been reading about in the scriptures, but before we can have some of those Nephi-like or Brother of Jared-like experiences, we have to actually believe that God not only can do those things, but that he is willing to do them in our lives. Otherwise, we're left with Laman and Lemuel's self-fulfilling prophecy: "the Lord maketh no such thing known unto us" (1 Nephi 15:8-9).
Today, let's work on believing. Let's believe enough to pray and have a conversation with God, and then as that conversation happens, it will help us build up and work from there on our faith.
