Proverbs 19:17 -- On Lending to the Lord

"He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again."
Proverbs 19:17


I love the idea here of lending to the Lord, and such a clear message that God will absolutely pay us back when we are generous to the poor. God asks us to "not spend money for that which is of no worth" (2 Nephi 9:51), but here he encourages our spending. :) 

Today, let's have faith and take this to heart, being more generous than we have been, uplifting and enriching those who are in need, trusting in God that our actions will not lead us into poverty, but will instead be be restored, allowing us to continue to do God's will in this.
