Mark 11:22-25 -- On Moving Mountains

"And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."
Mark 11:22-25

I like this strong message about faith.  I think it is interesting also that the instruction at the very beginning is to have faith in God, not to have faith in yourself or to focus on what you are trying to accomplish.  Christ's instructions aren't about how to  do or get anything we want, though the desire part sort of sounds like that.  Rather, he includes prayer as part of the process, as well as being in tune with the spirit through forgiveness.  He is teaching us how to draw on the Lord's power to do HIS will.

That said of course, we could all probably use a lot of work in actually believing, and what comes to mind in that area is D&C 121:45, which tells us to be filled with charity and to "let virtue garnish [our] thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God."  It's that sort of confidence that we can have when we feel good about ourselves and our connection with God.

Today, let's make sure that we tune in to God, and that we live so that we can feel the spirit in our lives. Let's work on being filled with love for all, and fill our minds with good... those are the steps to having the kind of faith that can move mountains, and do equally impressive miracles in our lives and the lives of others. :)
