Isaiah 42:6-7

"I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house."
Isaiah 42:6-7

This is cool... talking about Christ and how he frees us from blindness and darkness.  It is interesting to me when the scriptures talk about us as prisoners... in this case, prisoners of death, but also prisoners of sin.  Christ came to save us from both prisons.  Why do we commit sin when it binds us in the darkness?  A good question to ask ourselves perhaps... but no matter the reason, God offers us pardon... commutes the sentence that we have passed on ourselves, tells us... you don't have to suffer anymore.  You don't have to punish yourself anymore.  It is over.  All you need to do is "go, and sin no more."  Walk in the light... look at the world around you, see all the choices that you have *besides* prison... :)  You don't have to live in a world where your choices are that limited... God offers us freedom, light... love.  We don't have to live without any of those things, no matter who we are, or what we think of ourselves.  Let's trust him.  He loves us... and wants us to take off the chains.
