"Wherefore, by faith was the law of Moses given. But in the gift of his Son hath God prepared a more excellent way; and it is by faith that it hath been fulfilled."
Ether 12:11
In verse 8, before this, the propher Ether refers to "the heavenly gift" which Christ prepares a way for us to partake, and here we're told that Christ *is* a gift, given to us by the father, also to prepare a "more excellent" way. As always, the father and the son working hand in hand to prepare the way for us, and Christ's atonement is the gift that leads us to, and is, our salvation.
It's the same thing that we consider during the sacrament each week at church, but I'm not sure if we always realize or "retain in remembrance" (Mosiah 4:11) just how amazing God's gifts are, and the possibilities that we have because God loves us enough to give us such incomparable gifts.
Today, let's seek the more excellent way that God has prepared for us, and be thankful to and open with God as we pray, study, and learn to follow his path to eternal joy.
