Psalms 9:18-20 -- On Waiting

"For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
Put them in fear, O Lord: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah."
Psalms 9:18-20

Waiting on the Lord can be hard sometimes. We see injustice and evil around us, and we want it to stop. We can have faith that God will stop it, but let's also remember that we are often full of injustice and sometimes even evil. Our hearts and minds are still a long way from God's. This delay of justice, which is an extremely short time on God's eternal timeline, is the time that he has given us to prepare for him. Let's give other people the same grace, and work to focus on the good in others, and help them where we can.

God's justice will come in his time, which is exactly the right time, and it will be swift and powerful, bringing perfect justice and perfect mercy to us all. Let's make sure that we use the preparation time that he has given us, so that we can be ready when he calls.
