D&C 76:10 -- On Unimagined Blessings

"For by my Spirit will I enlighten them, and by my power will I make known unto them the secrets of my will—yea, even those things which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor yet entered into the heart of man."
Doctrine and Covenants 76:10

I love God telling us some of what he will give us if we are faithful to him. The part about "nor yet entered into the heart of man" clarifies that he isn't just planning on giving us things we haven't seen or heard of, but that what he has in mind, no one on Earth has ever even *imagined* ... that's awesome stuff right there, and why it is so important to work on breaking down the walls that we have built up between ourselves and God. We have to learn to let him in, to listen to him, and to follow his instructions, so we can get to the places he is showing us... the promised lands, the better selves, the glorified, amazing future that is better than we could ever imagine in this life.

Today, let's try to grasp the concept that nothing on this earth matters as much as what God has in store, and that the most important thing in this life is to do all we can to prepare for that... to get there, and to help others get there too. Once we grasp that, perhaps that will help us to have a better perspective on everything else. The temporary problems and setbacks, and even death, which is also temporary. It helps with temptation and sin as well... giving up that promised future for anything temporary seems ludicrous when we are seeing with the Spirit. Let's work with and for God and lift ourselves and the whole world around us closer to Him.
