"And it came to pass that so great was their faith and their patience that the voice of the Lord came unto them again, saying: Be of good comfort, for on the morrow I will deliver you out of bondage."
Mosiah 24:16
I really like the recipe here of faith and patience leading to deliverance. Both are hard things, and I don't think that they can exist without each other, at least in a gospel context. To have patience, we have to have some faith that things are going to work out, and in order to have faith, we have to have it over a period of time, not just in one bright moment... patience teaches us faith.
I think they also build on each other. If we have a little of one, then we can have a little of the other, and keep working on that, back and forth, learning from God, and learning to trust his Spirit, his word, and his deliverance.
Today, let's work on our faith and our patience as we look to God for health, strength, compassion, and deliverance.
