"Now I would that ye should see that they brought upon themselves the curse; and even so doth every man that is cursed bring upon himself his own condemnation."
Alma 3:19
This struck me today because it is talking about a group of people marking themselves and fighting against another group. I don't think individuality or expressing ourselves is a bad thing, but I think the curseworthy thing here is dividing ourselves from others in order to attack them or force them to be more like we are, or to bring them under our control. God asks us to be unified, to help each other... to lift each other up, and that kind of division and intent to subjugate is basically the opposite of what God asks. Today, let's work on doing good to others, and emphasizing our commonalities rather than criticizing and attacking our differences.
