"Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord."
Jeremiah 9:23-24
I love this reminder that wisdom, might, and riches can be good if used correctly, the things that we should be glorying in are a relationship with the Lord, and the fact that he can restore love, kindness, judgement, and righteousness to the earth. We don't seem to be able to do very well at that when left to our own devices.
Today, let's turn to the Lord to help us with the things that we can't do for ourselves, and learn more about him, and try to be more like him, little by little, so that we can someday learn how to be the kind of people that can enjoy living in a better world like that. :)
