"Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him."
Acts 10:34-35
I like this story, because it shows Peter learning that something he had been taught his whole life he needed to reconsider, and to be open to brotherhood with other nations and peoples... that God is God of all people. I think sometimes all of us fall into this mental trap, seeing only people similar to ourselves as righteous or chosen, when in truth, God has people scattered everywhere that we can help him gather.
Today, let's be open to people from other countries and backgrounds, remembering that God loves them as well as he loves us. Let's be united in turning to the Lord and being one people.
