"Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.
Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.
And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you."
Jonah 1:10-12
This is part of the story of Jonah, when he was trying to get out of what the Lord had asked him to do. I think sometimes there are tempests in our lives that turn us around as well, and they aren't fun, but they are designed to help. God could have let Jonah die when he was tossed overboard, but he not only sent the tempest, but he sent the salvation along with it... a way to endure and escape.
Today, whatever tempests come into our lives, let's remember that God builds in repentance and escape to everything, and if we turn towards God our lives will get better. They won't be without trials, of course, because that is how we learn, but with God we will be able to see the good, and find our way through any storm.
