"Now behold, Helaman and his brethren were no less serviceable unto the people than was Moroni; for they did preach the word of God, and they did baptize unto repentance all men whosoever would hearken unto their words.
And thus they went forth, and the people did humble themselves because of their words, insomuch that they were highly favored of the Lord, and thus they were free from wars and contentions among themselves, yea, even for the space of four years."
Alma 48:19-20
I like the idea here of repentance bringing humility, humility bringing favor, and the favor of the Lord bringing peace. Favor likely doesn't always bring literal peace, as in the absence of war, because even if we are always repenting and favored, trials still have to come (with no better example than the Savior). I think though that favor could possibly always brings spiritual peace, so that despite whatever trials we are working through, we could still be calm and connected enough with the Lord to feel confidence in his help in facing and overcoming whatever it is. :)
Today, let's examine our lives and repent of our mistakes and sins, gaining some humility in the process adn starting the cycle moving towards peace.
