Isaiah 41:6-7

"They helped every one his neighbor; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.
So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved."
Isaiah 41:6-7

This is awesome.  So many times it seems like we are all working against each other.  Especially at work I see it... people fighting one another for a promotion, or making sure someone else gets the blame for a mistake.  It's a scary environment sometimes.  Just driving down the street.  What driver assumes that the rest of the drivers are a complement, and not competition?  Unions fight management... "people" resent government... we compete with each other for dates, or wealth, or popularity... so many things.  But God has better ideas for how to spend our time here on earth.  Think about how much more we would learn, how much more we could become... if we helped and encouraged each other instead of resenting and being jealous of each other.  If we shared knowledge instead of hoarding it... if we were happy for whoever got the promotion instead of ourselves, and supported them in everything that they did.  carpenters and goldsmiths do very different things, but in this scripture they are encouraging and assisting each other.  Are there ways that we can encourage and build instead of criticizing and tearing down today?  Our success is never based on another's failure.  Their success is our success.  We are brothers and sisters.  We can help and teach each other instead of trying to protect our territory.  Think of what a completely incredible world it would be if we really helped each other, and encouraged each other.  Try it today... maybe it'll be fun. :)
