Luke 18:17 -- On Receiving the Kingdom

"Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein."
Luke 18:17

To me, this means that we need to look at God's kingdom with a sense of wonder and trust and love rather than one of cynicism or judgement. God doesn't always do things the way that we expect, or handle things in the way that we prefer, but he is wiser than we are, by far, and if we truly get that, and understand that we are as children before him, then perhaps we can look up to him and his kingdom with the correct reverence--not some humility that he demands, but the actual situation that we are in--and see the miraculous wonder of what God is doing. We see evil and corruption pretty well, but sometimes we miss the miracles that are happening all around us, because God isn't spewing drama and grabbing headlines. He is helping us individually and quietly, but his small and simple things are moving the universe.

Today, let's pay attention to the things of God, and try to catch the wonder of it all. :)
