"And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord."
Mosiah 24:15
This is a good reminder that even when God doesn't take our burdens away, he can make them lighter. If praying for elimination of all of our trials isn't working, we might need some of them to be able to grow. But we can still pray for strength and patience and a better attitude so that we can endure it well. :)
Today, let's remember that God has a plan and, depending on how our requests fit into that plan, he isn't always going to answer our prayers the way we want him to. Let's be creative today and remember that sometimes the answer is to run away... to a promised land perhaps, to get the strength to overcome or endure, or to have the faith and patience to wait until the miracle comes. Let's pray in faith, knowing that God knows the best way to answer our prayers and to help us to become better.
