"Hearken, O ye people of my church, saith the voice of him who dwells on high, and whose eyes are upon all men; yea, verily I say: Hearken ye people from afar; and ye that are upon the islands of the sea, listen together.
For verily the voice of the Lord is unto all men, and there is none to escape; and there is no eye that shall not see, neither ear that shall not hear, neither heart that shall not be penetrated."
Doctrine and Covenants 1:1-2
This reminds me of the idea of a voice crying in the wilderness, or the idea of the Spirit speaking in a still, small voice. God doesn't speak to us in an earth-shattering voice most of the time. Instead, he talks through prophets and scriptures and the people around us sometimes... urging us to listen with the Spirit, and recognize his voice, wherever it is coming from. Eventually everyone will see, and hear, and feel, and know. But he still asks us to hearken. Today, let's listen and learn now, and not wait until God has to make it more obvious, and when we might have fewer choices or opportunities to run with the knowledge. :)
