"And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all."
Abraham 3:19
I love reading some of these conversations between God and Abraham, because the sense of kind of "dumbing it down for a 5-year-old" comes through. Now, don't freak out... I know that Abraham was not dumb, and God isn't treating him disrespectfully. It's just that there is a little bit of that in every interaction that we have with God, because he knows so much more than we do, and *is* more intelligent by at least several orders of magnitude, and yet he is also more compassionate and wise and truly loves us all better than we can even imagine love as well. He isn't being cruel here... only helping his child to understand, which we all need sometimes.
I love the simple comparison, and explaining to Abraham in a easy way what being a God is, before there were superhero comics and Greek mythologies to fall back on (which of course muddied the waters further, but I digress). Today, let's remember how intelligent and cool God is, as he reaches down to lift us up and help us to learn to be like him. It is the greatest gift we could ever have, to have that opportunity to learn to be so much more than we now are. Let's embrace that chance, follow God's path, and learn for all we're worth. :)
