Psalms 127:1-2 -- On Trusting the Lord

"Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep."
Psalms 127:1-2

I like this reminder that the Lord helps us, always, to the degree that if he didn't help us, our efforts would be in vain. When we work towards God's will, then things work out better. Similarly, worry doesn't help. Trusting in God is the only thing that can help for so many things that we don't have any control over... because God does. He can calm our worries and help us with anything.

Today, let's counsel with the Lord in all that we do, and follow his instructions so that we are not working in vain, but rather towards a better world and an eventual happy ending/eternity. And let's get some sleep, knowing that God has things under control. :)
