"And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
Exodus 14:13-14
This is a good reminder that we never see the whole picture, and God has solutions that we have never considered. The Egyptians were following the children of Israel, and the children of Israel were (understandably, considering the circumstances) pretty freaked out. They had escaped slavery for only a very short time and now they were being followed by an army. It looked dire. ... To mortal eyes. God had a plan, and the prophet told them to be still and watch/trust that the Lord would do as he promised. This was just after a bunch of miracles in getting them out of Egypt in the first place, so they did have some experience to draw upon.
Today, let's remember this, and the miracles that God has done throughout the scriptures and in our own lives, and let's take those memories and bolster our confidence in God, and know that he is willing to help us every single time we need it. Let's do everything we can, and definitely pray for help, but then in stillness, let's trust that the Lord knows what he is doing, and not freak out or run around full of anxiety. We don't need to. God will take care of the things that we can't control, and however it works out, he will help us through it.
