"Yea, and again, when the lightnings shall streak forth from the east unto the west, and shall utter forth their voices unto all that live, and make the ears of all tingle that hear, saying these words—Repent ye, for the great day of the Lord is come?
And again, the Lord shall utter his voice out of heaven, saying: Hearken, O ye nations of the earth, and hear the words of that God who made you.
O, ye nations of the earth, how often would I have gathered you together as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, but ye would not!"

I think the message here is to choose God before we regret it. Not because God demands it, but because God is showing us the way to peace and happiness, we want peace and happiness, and in the end it is going to be too late to take advantage of that offer if we spend our lives pursuing and learning something else.
Today, let's be willing to let the Lord gather us, and be willing to learn from him how to have greater peace and safety in his care. Let's not resist something we want just because we don't understand how it works, but rather give God a chance... have the faith to reach out and pray and learn for ourselves the truth of his existence, and his mission.
