Psalms 143:6-10 -- On Thirst for the Spirit and Learning from God

"I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness."
Psalms 143:6-10

Some more cool scriptural poetry. I like the idea of thirsting for the Spirit, because we do... when our lives seem empty or meaningless, God is what we are missing. That is the hole that we feel in our lives from time to time, and that relationship with God is what can restore vibrancy and wholeness.

All of this is good, but I think my favorite part is pleading with God to teach us to do his will. As mortals it is hard to understand and to do, but God understands this, and he doesn't just leave us to figure it all out on our own. He loves and recognizes our efforts, but he is also willing to help us. Today, let's ask for that help. We can't fail if we work with him and take it in small steps. Let's keep working towards the future that God can see for us, which is better than any other.
