"For behold, the same that judgeth rashly shall be judged rashly again; for according to his works shall his wages be; therefore, he that smiteth shall be smitten again, of the Lord.
Behold what the scripture says—man shall not smite, neither shall he judge; for judgment is mine, saith the Lord, and vengeance is mine also, and I will repay."
Mormon 8:19-20
This is a good reminder of the law of restoration... that we'll have our actions reflected back at us, good for good, bad for bad, although repentence helps us avoid the negative consequences. If we truly change, then we fall under the atonement and Christ pays for us.
I don't think any of us want back all of the things that we have dished out over the years, so today, let's be careful to not judge rashly or to smite. Let's be peacemakers, and generous, and kind. Let's go to God in prayer and work out our repentance with him. God will make all things right in the end. Let's just worry about what we can do to make the universe a little better wherever we go.
