"My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?"
Proverbs 24:21-22
The "given to change" part is interesting... God is eternal and changeless, but individually, we definitely need to change in order to improve. I think the idea in this verse is more one of not fomenting the overthrow of the government or wanting to be ruled by someone besides God.
Maybe today we can work on recognizing the wisdom of God's will and his commandments. They will help us work towards a perfect society and towards becoming our best selves. That isn't always true of rulers, but it is definitely always true of God.
