"Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."
John 8:28-29
Lots of times we see obedience as a burden or obligation, but Christ taught clearly here that it is a blessing. Christ did what the Father asked, and the Lord blessed him with the Spirit of his presence in his life, filling that God-sized hole that is a part of us, and that we only feel as a void when we are walking away.
Jesus is the Christ. We know this, as he predicted. And he taught us how to have God in our lives, guiding us and helping us to walk as he did. Let's notice and listen today, and do the work so that we can enjoy the blessings of obedience.
