"Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."
James 4:5-8
This is a good reminder that it is easy for us to get envious, and that we have a tendency to think that way, which is good to know so that, with God, we can learn to recognize that and work to overcome it. Today, let's work on that humility and recognizing when we are making ourselves discontent by looking elsewhere and comparing, and instead focus on what we have been given, and be thankful for it. As we purify our hearts, God will help us be able to focus and become more than we could have dreamed possible. :)
