Helaman 4:14-15 -- On Consequences and Repentance

"But behold, Moronihah did preach many things unto the people because of their iniquity, and also Nephi and Lehi, who were the sons of Helaman, did preach many things unto the people, yea, and did prophesy many things unto them concerning their iniquities, and what should come unto them if they did not repent of their sins.
And it came to pass that they did repent, and inasmuch as they did repent they did begin to prosper."
Helaman 4:14-15

Knowing the consequences is definitely not always fun, but it does give us some important context for our choices. We make some pretty awful choices sometimes, and it is important that we understand where those choices lead, so that we have the motivation to repent and change... to take the second (etc.) chances that Christ died to offer us.

Today, let's consider our ways, and understand the weight of our actions. If we want the consequences that we see before us, then we are free to choose a life without God. But God encourages us to improve our options through repentance. Let's recognize the truth when it is presented to us, and be brave enough to follow God's true path.
