Alma 26:6-7 -- On Storms and Shelter

"Yea, they shall not be beaten down by the storm at the last day; yea, neither shall they be harrowed up by the whirlwinds; but when the storm cometh they shall be gathered together in their place, that the storm cannot penetrate to them; yea, neither shall they be driven with fierce winds whithersoever the enemy listeth to carry them.
But behold, they are in the hands of the Lord of the harvest, and they are his; and he will raise them up at the last day."
Alma 26:6-7

This is an interesting selection comparing people to a harvest... people who are willing to be gathered together by God, listening to his voice and going where he wants them to go, will be safe.

I think it is important to note that the Lord doesn't make us impervious to the storm, or stronger than it. He just gathers us to a safe place, and the storm still happens. I think sometimes we want to win... beat the storm, triumph, prove that we are stronger... but it's God job to win. Sometimes we just need to stay safe. :)

Today, let's listen to the Lord and go where he asks... and be a little humble about it, not demanding to be better than the storm, but accepting it when we need to hunker down and stay safe.
