"Ye are not able to abide the presence of God now, neither the ministering of angels; wherefore, continue in patience until ye are perfected."
Doctrine and Covenants 67:13
God speaks so gently to us sometimes, when we want to move more quickly than is wise. It's kind of like when we were children and we wanted to be big and do big people things that looked so fun. :) God is asking us to accept that we are still children in some ways, and that we still have a lot to learn and just like when we were little, we need to have some strong patience and wait to grow up a little, learning as we go. It takes time, and patience, and faith, but God is there to guide us if we can just keep moving in the right direction--towards him.
Today, let's remember that patience precedes perfection. :) It's tempting to just try to run to the end, but that's kind of like building the Tower of Babel. It isn't really the way to get there. Let's keep working and learning and putting the Lord first, and we will get there, in the Lord's time and with his help.
