3 Nephi 9:13-14 -- On Gentleness in the Midst of Destruction

"O all ye that are spared because ye were more righteous than they, will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?
Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me."
3 Nephi 9:13-14

At this point all the people can hear is a voice. They haven't seen Christ appear before them yet, but he comforts them in the darkness and teaches them many of the things that he taught in Israel. I really like this part because he is pleading with the people to repent and allow him to heal them. The people are in darkness and have gone through a lot emotionally, and even though God could demand anything from them here, he asks, praises, and pleads with them. He is gentle, letting them know that they are accepted if they can just turn to him.

He loves us this same way, and pleads with us as well. Today, let's hear his voice and turn to him.
