Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility."
2 Nephi 2:11
I love the idea of God explaining a simple law of the universe to us here. It's like he is saying "This is how things work, and how things function, so you can't get through life without opposition... otherwise you would just remain the same and never change, and that's pretty much the whole point of this life, right?"
Today, even if we are fed up with opposition, let's take heart in the fact that we aren't stuck the way we are for eternity, and that God can help us change us into the people that we want to become... as long as it isn't Abraham Lincoln or something. At least we can become the best versions of *ourselves,* and be better than we can imagine right now, with time, and work, and God's help. :)
