"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness."
Proverbs 31:25-26
These are a couple of the verse describing a virtuous woman. I like the idea here of clothing ourselves (symbolically) with strength and honor, and looking with joy at the future that the Lord promises us. I also like the combination of wisdom and kindness, as well as the juxtaposition of strength and kindness from the first verse to the second.
Too often we see messages in our society that strength and kindness don't go together, or that strength and kindness are opposite gender roles. God definitely doesn't think that kindness is weak, or that women can't be strong. Let's all of us, together, take these verses to heart, not just about women, but let's recognize that God himself is strong and kind, and seek to be like him.
