These are super-important, essential ingredients to salvation, but ones that I think we gloss over sometimes, trying to survive with their opposites, doubt, despair, and hatred. Experiencing these things on a limited basis won't kill us of course, and overcoming them is part of the test of life, but they are things that can kill us if we give up and live with them, inviting them to stay.
Today, let's call upon God for help in eradicating these killing things from our lives. Let's look up with faith and hope, trusting in the positive outlook and the happy ending that God promises us, and let's above all learn from God how to love. That's a tough thing, especially people who have been unkind to us or who are our enemies in some other way... and yet, hatred kills us just as doubt and fear do over time. We have to learn to love other people, even people that are very different from us, or ones that (gasp!) disagree with us. :)
God can help us with all of this, if we ask. Let's do so this day, and every time we feel ourselves slipping back into a dark place.
