"Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man."
Colossians 4:6
I like the idea of seasoning our speech here, and it seems like the idea behind it is taking the time to prepare our words, rather than just blurting them out like an underprepared raw meal. We need some time and seasoning so that our speech is palatable.
This idea seems to go along with the general ideas of patience and treating other people well, preparing ahead of time, etc. Today, let's be careful with our speech, taking the time to get the message across that we want to get across as we translate what is in our heads into the actual words that we want to say. Let's avoid hasty and thoughtless conversation that can so easily offend and make sure that we are taking the time to treat other people with respect and kindness.
