Galatians 3:10-11 -- On Living By Faith

"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith."
Galatians 3:10-11

These are some interesting verses talking about law, justice, and faith.  We often think of laws as protective, and thus they usually are, but here they are also talked about as a curse.  In this case, I think, because none of us can actually fulfil the requirements of the law... we become, in a way, cursed, because of our own failure and sin.  Because none of us can fulfil those requirements, none of us are justified.

Instead, we rely on our faith in and the mercy of Jesus Christ, who faced the law for us, and paid the price that we owed, and who asks in return only that we continue to strive and to repent and change.

Today, let's repent and change, and keep working on our own worthiness.  Let's trust God to help us through the demands of justice, and live by that faith--knowing that God will help us succeed.
