Hebrews 1:1-2

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds."
Hebrews 1:1-2

Sometimes I don't think we realize how amazing this is.  God sometimes seems so distant.  We read of prophets, we learn about things that he has done for people... but we rarely expect him to come down and walk beside us.  Which is basically, through his son, what he did.  And not only that, not only the face-to-face interaction, reinforcing his earlier teachings, but fulfilling the old law, instituting a new, and ... suffering for our sins.  Doesn't that just totally blow you away?  Which of us can even give up our bad habits for God?  And he gave his son.  And Christ gave himself.  All for us.  So that we don't have to suffer eternal consequences for the things that we've done wrong... so that we can grow and actually become PERFECT.  That is incredible.  Someone who IS perfect, suffering so much to help us very imperfect people to become like he is. ... Today, let's remember that he still speaks to us, every day.  He is *still* helping us toward that same goal.  And let's allow that fact to make a difference in how we approach the day, and in who we are.
