Philippians 4:11

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."
Philippians 4:11

This is interesting.  I think that it is hard to be content in some states... especially North Dakota.  Okay, just joking :) ... but it really is hard to be content at times, when we focus on the future and what we want in our lives that we think will fill the void, or make us happy... or whatever it is.  The cool thing is that, with God's help... we can get to this point.  Where, no matter what is going on in our lives, we can be okay with it.  And not just okay... content.  Like the difference between being sorry for your sins because you don't like the consequences, and being sorry for your sins because you truly have your mind and your heart changed and you don't even want it anymore.  Sometimes we think of "content" as in... okay, I can cope with this.  But God doesn't just want coping, he wants us to be happy on the journey, to see the incredible opportunities we have along the way, not just at our destination.  And we can learn it.  We can learn to be happy along the way, and to enjoy the opportunities that each day affords.  Are we content today?  (And content does NOT equal complacent, by the way) ... if not, why not?  Something to think about...
