Revelation 3:17-19 -- On Seeing Clearly and Making Decisive Changes

"Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."
Revelation 3:17-19

This is just after God asks us to be cold or hot, rather than lukewarm, so I think this is continuing on the theme of self-deception, that we aren't comprehending the truth and committing to it fully. We're trying to float in the middle and just get along, thinking we are better off than we are.

Today, let's trust less in the world's goods and our standing there, and focus on our standing with God, and the distance between who we are and who we can be. The distance is vast, but God will help us... he loves us, which is why he corrects us and shows us the way to become closer to our best selves. Let's commit, and jump in with both feet rather than staying in the middle and not seeing the truth.
