Helaman 13:6 -- On Repentance and Faith

"Yea, heavy destruction awaiteth this people, and it surely cometh unto this people, and nothing can save this people save it be repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, who surely shall come into the world, and shall suffer many things and shall be slain for his people."
Helaman 13:6

I like this... it sounds harsh, but in context, he tells them four hundred years ahead, giving them a *lot* of time to pull it together, and even though they rejected God's prophet, didn't listen, cast him out... God still offers them a way out. Repentance and faith. And that is the way out for all of us. If we don't like what is coming--the consequences that we have chosen, then we can change. We can turn to God, and even if we are only starting with a desire to believe, God can work with that. Both repentance and faith are ongoing processes rather than one-time events, and God will accept our efforts, wherever we begin. We just have to keep practicing, keep learning, keep going on his path.

Today, let's look to God, change our lives, and trust in the future that God has promised.
