Hosea 6:1-2 -- On Returning to the Lord

"Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight."
Hosea 6:1-2

I like the symbolism here of dying and being resurrected in three days, a foreshadowing of Christ. It is similar to the symbolism of baptism, of symbolically dying to sin, and being reborn as a new spiritual creature.

I also love the idea of God withdrawing his anger and looking upon us in mercy once again, if we sincerely change. I always think of the whole "how often would I have gathered you" (3 Nephi 10:5), but us refusing... God wants to bless us and care for us, if we will return to him and forsake our sins. Today, let's work on that, so that we may live in his sight. :)
