Alma 36:3 -- On Trust, Trials, and God's Support

"And now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day."
Alma 36:3

This is a great promise. Trusting in God is a hard thing for us to do, because so many things seem uncertain, and the results seem variable, since we aren't sure what God's will is in each case, so prayers for healing or protection may or may not result in the obvious outcome. And yet, God answers us anyway, giving us what we want when he can, within the larger context of the gospel plan. It just takes us some practice to see how the hand of God works in that way.

Today, let's work on putting our trust in God, and practice little by little until we understand how he works with us and can trust him on a higher level, being delivered as the scripture promises. :)
