Moroni 10:32 -- On Ungodliness and Sensitivity to the Spirit

"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God."
Moroni 10:32

The idea of denying ourselves all ungodliness is a huge task, but I like it explained that way.  Instead of just saying "become perfect," it at least gives us an idea of what it takes.  We are perfected through Christ, and we have to give up everything that doesn't fit in with God.  And although that is fairly general, it goes along with the idea of keeping the spirit with us, and so basically anything that drives away the spirit is something we need to give up, right?

Not saying any of this is easy, mind you, but I like the idea of just needing spiritual sensitivity and love to go in the right direction.  That seems like a straightforward idea, although of course feeling and understanding what the spirit is saying to us or prompting us to do can be challenging, and takes a lot of practice.  So, in addition to giving up some of our ungodly things today, let's also work on our spiritual sensitivity through prayer and cleaning out things that interfere with prayer... probably the first step. :)
