Ether 12:2-4 -- On a Sure Hope for a Better World

"And Ether was a prophet of the Lord; wherefore Ether came forth in the days of Coriantumr, and began to prophesy unto the people, for he could not be restrained because of the Spirit of the Lord which was in him.
For he did cry from the morning, even until the going down of the sun, exhorting the people to believe in God unto repentance lest they should be destroyed, saying unto them that by faith all things are fulfilled--
Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God."
Ether 12:2-4

There are several cool things here. I like that Ether couldn't be restrained because of the Spirit. The Spirit does so many things for us, helping us to stay in tune with God and keeping us spiritually sensitive... it is super cool that it also encourages and bolsters us, helping us to weather opposition and remain strong in testimony and determination to serve God.  I also love the idea of hoping with surety and that hope can anchor us and keep us safe and strong in a similar manner.  And "by faith all things are fulfilled" also reminds us about how powerful faith is in our lives, and how powerful it *can* be if we exercise more of it.

Today, let's cultivate the Spirit in our lives, and gather what hope and faith we have and try to build on it, working on that anchor and that confident "sure hope" in a better world through God's will.
