Ephesians 6:5-7

"Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men."
Ephesians 6:5-7

I like this part. It is easy to become resentful in this world of imperfect authority.  "The Man" is always doing this or that.  And although we're not indentured servants... we still serve.  I'm not sure how much we have to tremble, but a little bit of fear... for our jobs, for our grades, or for relationships in families and church communities where we also serve, is probably in order. :) The point though... and this is *great* stuff, even though we probably won't like doing it all the time, is to happily serve, and do our very best despite any lingering wrongs or resentment... as though we were serving Christ instead of random fallible people. :) Not just a token effort, but throwing ourselves into it, and doing a great job.  It isn't always easy.  Bad things do happen, and "the man" can get us down sometimes.  But, if we remember no matter where we are or what we're doing, that we're doing everything that we do for God, and that is where our true rewards for honest effort will come from... then it is easier to do our best, with the good will that it talks about, and easier to set a good example for others.
