"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
. . .
As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man."
Proverbs 27:17, 19
We perfect each other in a lot of ways... I know that I have mentioned this before, but Neal A Maxwell talks about us being the clinical experience for each other... perhaps in our interactions we shave off some of the rough spots... we get polished by coming into contact with others. In our families, and in all of our relationships, we learn some of our most important lessons... how to love one another, how to be honest, vulnerable, open... we sharpen each other, and prepare each other for interactions and challenges in the future. It's a great thing that we do for each other, and even when there are challenges, it is commitment to the relationships in our lives that teaches us how to heal rather than hurt... how to weather the storms of life. The last verse is interesting... saying basically that we reflect the hearts of each other. If we approach someone with love, then love is reflected back to us. If with suspicion and doubt, then that will be reflected as well. We are all brothers and sisters... all with a lot to learn, and all with magnificent potential. Let's remember our similarities today, and sharpen each other with love, and radiate some positive energy, so that we can get some reflected back. :) Remember, when you look at someone else, that your heart is reflected there. Do you like what you see?
