Doctrine and Covenants 88:63-64

"Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; as, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name it shall be given unto you, that is expedient for you."
Doctrine and Covenants 88:63-64

This is good stuff... first of all, that God would tell us that if we really work at it, we won't be disappointed.  We have to be diligent in seeking the Lord, but if we are, we will always succeed in finding him, and he will help us.  We have to knock, and ask, and seek... but when we go looking, we know that in the end, our search will be fruitful.  I think too often we don't ask... we decide beforehand that God isn't interested, or sometimes we wonder for a long time why God isn't giving us certain things, when we haven't gotten on our knees and talked to him about it.  Try it... ask him for what you need.  Talk to him about your life... if it's good for you, God will give it to you.  On *his* timetable, of course... but who knows, it could be that today is the day. :)  We'll never know until we ask.  He loves us, and he wants us to have the good desires of our hearts... but he also wants us to learn to ask, to seek, to knock... and to be able to tell the difference between good and bad desires. :)
