4 Nephi 1:15-16

"And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.
And there were no envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness; and surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God."
4 Nephi 1:15-16

This is amazing to me... that no one lied in the whole country. :)  That, because they loved each other, and had the love of God with them all the time, that they never had arguments with each other... or fistfights.  No contention at all, and then, since there was no low-level stuff, it didn't lead to higher level stuff such as murder.  Nobody was envious.  Later in the chapter it talks about how they had everything common... and no one was fighting about that either... grabbing more toys for himself, or trying to be better.  It just amazes me that you could get a very large group of people to live that way.  And it gives me hope... that maybe we'll get there.  one of the things that we commit to do as members of the church is build God's kingdom... and his kingdom is like this scripture... a unified community, a Zion people.  So, the more we love the people around us, the closer we will be.  The less we will offend, or be offended... the more we will heal, and not hurt.  Let's go there. :)  It will take some effort, sure... but wouldn't it be worth it to even have a tiny group of people who lived like this?  Let's work on loving the people around us today. :)
